Roofing tiles are formed in one piece from vulcanised rubber, and the profile of their cross-section has the shape of an 'S'. Their upper surface is a closed one whilst on their underside there is a network of ribs intercrossing each other to form cavities; the thickness of the upper surface and the height of the ribs together equalling the thickness of a normal tile. To give a roof an attractive appearance and a structure resembling that formed by stoneware tiles. The curvature of the tiles makes it possible to anchor them together, so that special precautions to prevent their blowing off are not necessary. The tiles are light weight and can be laid easily on a lightweight supporting structure.
