A prestressed, elongate concrete element 4 such as a thinnish slab intended, by its own weight, to flexibly bend when being supported in its centre area, is used, in particular, to cover oil piping 1 on a sea bottom in a manner imitating the smoothness of the sea bottom. A reinforcement 5 is arranged in the upper portion of the element in the bending area thereof. The element is in its bending area provided with at least one thinned portion 6 to 9.
