The objects are metallised in chemical baths or electroplating baths, with the use of compounds which contain an element showing amphoteric behaviour. The underlying object was to indicate a process for producing metal-repelling surfaces on objects of any type, which reliably protects the surfaces produced in this way from metal deposition even in rapidly acting metal deposition baths. Stabilised and/or stable antimony compounds, which are soluble in water and/or inorganic solvents, are applied on, in and/or under the surfaces to be rendered metallophobic. |
