PURPOSE:To simply and easily prevent the collision between end faces of optical fibers and make the clearance between the end faces of a constant value by providing protrusions to optical-fiber-aligning V-grooves. CONSTITUTION:Protrusions 6, 6 are provided in the specified positions to the V- grooves 2 on a silicon substrate 1 and are used as stoppers at the aligning of optical fibers 3, 4. Hence, collision of the end faces of the fibers 3, 4 is simply and easily obviated. In addition, the clearance between the connecting end faces of the optical fibers 3, 4 is made of a constant value without using a microscope or the like. If a matching oil or the like is flowod in this clearance, the core parts of the optical fibers 3, 4 are highly accurately connected without being mutually interfered by the protrusions 6, 6. |
