<p>Mfr. of a coupling sleeve for high-voltage cables having an extruded insulation of (cross-linked) thermoplastics, comprises connecting the conductor ends; applying an electrically weakly conductive winding to bridge the inner conductive layer of the cable cores; and applying, by injection-moulding, an insulating body or winding of weldable or cross-linkable tapes; and finally heat-treating the winding. Before the insulating body or winding is applied onto the weakly conductive winding, a thin layer of (partly) cross-linked insulating tape or cross-linkable and immediately cross-linked, insulating tape, is applied. The insulating material is e.g. ethylene-propylene rubber.</p> |
