An animal feedstuff based on carbohydrates, proteins, fats and opt. other additives, comprises more than 20-150 ppm of one of the antibiotics Virginiamycin, Zinc-Bacitracin, or Flavophospholipol and an amt. of proteolytic enzyme such that an enzymatic activity of 0.05-2.5 mTU/g results. The animal puts on considerably more weight when standard feedstuffs are mixed with one of these antibiotics and a proteolytic enzyme. The feedstuff is esp. suitable as a starter for piglets and for piglets as they mature. The feedstuff is also suitable where the use of the particular antibiotics is already known to be of advantage, e.g. in feed for laying hens for fattening up pigs and raising calves. Feed utilisation can increase by =4%. |
