<p>The machine fits nail plates in position joining wooden beams of a structure together such as a roof truss, having a clamping table with grips holding the beams in position, and a movable press driving pairs of plates home at the joints from top and bottom. The table is of skeletal construction, with a lengthwise main rail (1, 1') supported on legs (8), and a number of loose transverse ones (7, 7') likewise on legs (8'). The latter rails are each detachably and adjustably secured at one end against the main rail sides and movable along it. The press is mounted on a hand-propelled truck, and has a forwards-protruding head, adjustable for height, with two opposite horizontal press plates.</p> |
