Less-toxic N, N'-disubstituted amidines (I; R= Me, R2=substituted phenyl) with antiinflammatory action were manufd. Imino compd. was reacted with amines in org. solvent to give tautomeric amidines in free base or hydrohalo acid salt mixt. The products were dissolved in hydrophilic org. solvent added HCI and washed with non-hydrophilic org. solvent to give acid salt. The acid solt was treated with alk. and extd. with obtain free base form. The amidine base was treated with org. or inorg. acid to give acid salt.
