<p>Test samples, for example body tissue for microscope examination are placed into a form containing a liquid plastic material which is then allowed to solidify. The form is in two parts, each consisting of an outer housing, pref. of Al and an insert with the desired inner dimensions. The upper and lower housings are held together by means of two bolts hinged to the lower housing by means of an eccentric disc, the upper housing being clamped in position by means of wing nuts. After solidification of the plastic material, the bolts are swung away from the housing whereupon the eccentric discs push the upper housing away from the lower one, thereby freeing the form. The forms which are inserted into the housings are preferably of teflon the inner dimensions of which are chosen according to the type of further analysis to be conducted. Appts. eliminates the need for a disposable glass vessel with its consequent danger due to slivers of glass and guarantees that the sample is embedded in a flat surface for further treatment.</p> |
