4-amino-6,7-di (lower alkoxy)-2-4- (substituted piperidino) quinazolines wherein the substituent on the piperidino ring has the formula: -O-alk-OR<1> wherein "alk" represents an ethylene group optionally substituted by 1 or 2 lower alkyl groups; and R<1> is hydrogen; lower alkyl; C3-C6 cycloalkyl; or phenyl optionally substituted by one or two groups selected from lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, halogen CF3 and carbamoyl or sulfamoyl optionally substituted by one or two lower alkyl groups; their pharmaceutically- acceptable acid addition salts; processes for their preparation; and pharmaceutical compositions containing them. The compounds are anti- hypertensives. |
