The switch is intended to determine the amplitude of the mechanical oscillations of a spinner and flexibly securely container in a washing machine. It has a centrifugal weight mounted in the rest condition in a housing depression, which moves from this position when a preset acceleration amplitude has been reached. The centrifugal weight (20) is of ferromagnet material, at least partly, and actuates in its rest position at least one contact pair (19). In a weight region outside its rest position is mounted a coil core (25) of an electromagnet (26), firmly coupled to the housing (11). The contact pair preferably consists of two contact paths (18, 19) in the housing and reaching into the depression (12). The centrifugal weight is spring (21) actuated.
