PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rearview mirror furnished with favorable safety avoiding a case where a person is harmed due to fragments developed on a lens surface when it has received an impact. SOLUTION: This rearview mirror is constituted by containing two pieces of front and rear glass panes forming an inside space by sealing an end edge part with a sealant, an electrochromic material provided in the inside space and at least more than one device provided at a position other than a surface of the extreme outside of a rearview mirror main body and to absorb impact energy, the device to absorb the impact energy is provided in a route where the impact energy passes, and it is a device low in strength in comparison with strength of other members provided in the route and to prevent growth of the fragment as the surface of the extreme outside of the rearview mirror by absorbing the impact energy the rearview mirror receives in reaction to the impact energy in receiving the impact energy.
