The injector for introducing regulated quantities of liquid at intervals into a pipeline or container (6) for e.g. cleaning purposes, has a tube (20) passing through a sleeve (10) so that it can be recirprocated. An attachment at the end enables it to be connected to a pump or other liquid supply. Sloping at an acute angle to the sleeve is a branch (14) with a ball (16) inside, acting as a valve member. This ball is forced inwards by a spring (26) behind it, and when the tube (20) is drawn back to a point beyond the branch connection, the ball is forced forwards by the spring (26) to enter a cavity (16) inside the sleeve (10) to act as a valve member, this being the closed position. The outer end of the tube (20) is guided by a nuff (22) which screws onto the end of the sleeve (10).
