<p>PURPOSE:To qreatly cut down on the cost of placement construction by changing the way of coiling S-Z twisted double sheathed cable and the usual twisted sheathed cable for loading them on placing ship at the time of submarine cable placement. CONSTITUTION:When a submarine cable, which is used for sending power generated by a sea water temperature difference power generation method to land through a flaoting station, is loaded on the cable laying ship 3, the S-Z twisted double sheathed cable 6, used in deep dea, is loaded on the laying ship 3 either by coiling around the turn table 5 or the drum 11, or by coiling while diverging it into 8-shaped form every one drum. And, the usual type twisted sheathed cable 8, laid at the sea bed shallower than the cable 6, is loaded on the laying ship 3 in the form of coiled cable 7. Thus, this method obviates the need for large scale turn tables on the laying ship, thus greatly reducing the cost of laying construction.</p> |
