PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of uneven recording densities by controlling the voltages being applied to the respective electrodes of recording electrode groups and evening the potential distribution of the spaces on the recording medium corresponding to the recording electrode groups. CONSTITUTION:The recording input signals I1, I2 ... through the drivers D1, D2 ... which are driven by stepwise negative voltages -V1, -V2... via the constant voltage elements e1, e2 ... connected in series to the parallel circuits of capacitors and resistances are applied to the respective electrodes 1' ... of recording electrode groups Si. Then, latent images are formed on a recording medium by the discharge of the counter electrodes Bi, Bi+1 to which the voltages are being subsequently applied and the group Si to which the voltages have been applied. In this case, the unevenness of the potential distribution between the group Si and the opposing recording medium owing to the electrodes Bi, Bi+1, etc. of different voltage application times is corrected by the voltages of the stepwise waveforms being applied to the gorup Si. As a result, the occurrence of uneven densities is prevented by the even potential distribution. |
