[Also in Division C1] Apparatus for refuse treatment substantially as described in Specification 1,128,805 in which the perforate inner drum 1 (16 in the above specification) has a open ended frusto conical portion 5 which contains small segmented blades 6 oblique to axis 7 that assist retention of refuse in the drum on normal rotation, and assist expulsion on reverse rotation. Outer shell 2 (18 in above specification) is continued to give a perforate portion 8 surrounded by an imperforate cylindrical portion 10 having an open end 13 towards the inlet end of the apparatus, and an imperforate portion 9 which is joined to an annular plate 15 on portion 5 by triangular X section supports 14 whose base is directed towards the inlet of the apparatus, the apex towards the outlet. Refuse passing through perforations in drum 1 into space 3 is further separated in space 16 by passage through perforations 8 and outlet 13 or by passage passed ring plate 15 and supports 14.</p> |
