PURPOSE:To enable free setting of the orientation of fiber or yarn and to easily obtain a three-dimensional fabric having various structures with >=3 axes by successively pressing and inserting a group of weft-direction rods cut to prescribed length into a warp-direction rod group produced by bonding fiber bundles with a matrix. CONSTITUTION:A number of rods produced by bonding fiber bundles with a matrix are vertically erected in parallel on a rod-holding table 16 to obtain warp-direction rod group 11. A waft-direction rod group 12 composed of a number of parallelly arranged rods is introduced into the above weft-direction rod group 11 with a pair of rotating feed rollers 50, cut to a prescribed length with a cutter 4 and pressed and inserted into the warp-direction rod group. The rod-holding table 16 is turned by a prescribed angle and the insertion of the weft-direction rod group 13 is repeated. According to the progress of the above weaving process, the holding table 15 is successively lowered to keep the insertion position of the weft-direction rod group 13 into the warp-direction rod group 11 to the level of the rod-pressing mechanism 5 supported on a table 40. |
