Sharpening blades of cutting machine - by feeding to slide moved parallel to centreline of grinding wheel

A number of similar blades (6) are mounted in the same orientation in a loading store (7). The blades are fed to a slide on which they are positioned with the aid of stops (9), after which the slide moves parallel to the centreline of the grinding wheel. The cylindrical grinding wheel (11) is mounted on a fixed spindle (12). All blades are ground by the same amt. after which they are fed to a finished part store. After grinding, the slide moves back to its original position.
