The fastening means for securing loads packed with or on wood or unit loads composed of wood, which loads are surrounded by at least one strap (3), against slipping, is an essentially rectangular plate. The narrow edges lying opposite each other of the fastening means do not have tooth-like projections (7) at least on one side (4).
