A suction box cover (10) for use in a papermaking machine comprises a structure (11) supporting dewatering foils (14) parallel to and spaced apart from one another, the foils (14) having leading edges to cooperate with a transversely extending belt conveying pulp. Adjacent elongate foils (14) define suction channels (15), and sealing means (18) are provided to seal each end portion of the channels (15), each sealing means (18) comprising a deformable elongate block (19), for example a rubber element, to be inserted where required into a channel (15). The sealing means (18) are provided with positioning means (25) and clamping means (23, 24) to clamp a block (19) to fix it in the required position in the channel (15). <IMAGE> |
