<p>A filter-type self-rescue apparatus includes downstream of its filter with respect to inhalation gas flow a heat exchanger comprised of a duct containing means of low thermal conductivity. The means has interstices through which the inhalation gas flows and may be in the form of wires, chips, screens, granules, balls, or tubes. These may be made of plastics.
