The telephone exchange, with call rerouting, releases rerouting data in response to a call made to an information centre. The system enables a supervisor to determine the frequency with which rerouting takes place at any information centre. After the rerouting data has been received and after a connection has been made from the connecting circuit to any one of a group of switching circuits, the data describing the subscriber concerned, which is generated by an identification process or signalled by the subscriber, is sent from the connecting circuit, concerned to the switching circuit reached by free selection in the course of the rerouting process.
