摘要 1,264,702. Knitting-machines. E. RIBLER. 14 May, 1969 [14 May, 1968], No. 24676/69. Headings D1C and D1E. [Also in Division H1] Needle jacks 62 pivotable by springs 17 are held with their butts 63 in a track 13 at a selection station 65 by permanent magnetic poles 2, 3. At least one pole, e.g. 2 has a cut-out 9 at the selection point where the field is selectively weakened by an electro-magnetic 5 permitting selected jacks to spring inwards and out of the track. The cut-out reduces residual magnetism in the jacks and thereby assists selection. The springs are stressed by a cam 18 and raise one or other of spring or pivoted one way opening guard cases 25, 26 depending on the direction of rotation, and are maintained in that position as they pass across the other. The jack butts may be forced against the selector station by a spring (16, Fig. 6, not shown) in the trick; alternatively release may be assisted by a spring (116, Fig. 14 not shown) acting radially inwards. Alternatively the springs 17 are stressed after cam 18, where the track direction changes, by cases (101 or 102 Figs. 15, 16 not shown) so that the released jack butts cannot engage the track 13. To reduce wear an elastic dampening bar 41 is fitted in the needle bed.
