<p>In a machine for harvesting trees, it is known to have a vehicle carrying a woodbunk and a boom mounted felling head which axially advances a grasped tree trunk for delimbing and bucking. Moreover, it is known to have the boom and felling head articulated so that a tree can be advanced over the woodbunk and upon bucking will fall into the woodbunk. This invention contemplates an improved configuration of components in which a side unloading woodbunk is mounted at the front of the vehicle with the felling boon mounted directly in front of the woodbunk. This permits a particularly short, singly articulated boom to fulfill the felling and woodbunk loading functions.</p> |
