<p>The counter comprises a cathode, an anode, a gas-filled envelope, and a radioactive source of predetermined activity. The cathode and the anode are mounted in the envelope and provide a main gas-discharge gap. An auxiliary gas-discharge gap is formed between the electrodes of a performance-check facility in the evelope. The radioactive source is positioned in the auxiliary gap, so that its own radiation induces a gas discharge solely in the auxiliary gap.</p> |
