Metallurgical furnace wall plate cooler - esp. for blast furnaces used in ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy

A furnace wall cooler for a metallurgical furnace comprises a metal plate having at least two pipes formed in the plate with end portions of the pipes bent aside in the same direction. The end portions extend from the plate and are connected with end portions of pipes arranged outside the plate to form closed coolant circuits. Each of the pipes arranged outside of the plate are mounted in a chamber having in inlet and an outlet for coolant. Only a relatively small amt. of water flows through the closed circuit so that in the event of damage to a pipe only a small amt. of water penetrates to the furnace. Such an amt. does not affect the furnace operation. The other pipes in the plate continue to function irrespective of the damaged pipe.
