Electromagnetic writing, recording, and reading installation for identity or identification cards has >=1 writing and reading head, over which data applied upon magnetically variable data carriers located on the card are applied and read off again. The data carriers are magnetisable steel chips arranged in a plastics plate doubling as identification card. They are magnetised by writing heads designed as magnets and readable by Hall generators or field plates.
