<p>The chain drive mechanism is for working directly in a muddy and/or abrasive mass of material. Sprockets are mounted parallel and close to a wall. The sprocket (2) has, on the side nearest the wall, a protruding star portion (8), whose points (9) slope away from the direction of rotation (F). A scraper blade is fixed to the wall and extends at right angles to it, bearing gently against the underside of the sprocket. Its end bears tangentially against the sprocket hub and extends in the direction of the outgoing chain (1), from which it diverges.</p> |
