<p>A storage calorifier (1) has a primary heating coil (2) and an electric heater (10). The primary coil receives water from a solar radiation absorber (3). The supply to the electric heater is controlled by two thermostats (11, 17) at different heights in the calorifier (1). A time switch (18) changes control from one to the other between normal and reduced night tariff supply periods. The flow of the primary water is controlled by a differential thermostat (7, 8) which detects the temp. drop in the primary circuit. The control enables full advantage to be taken of reduced night tariffs with provision for daytime boosting.</p> |
