The compounds are selected from a metal salt of higher fatty acids, higher fatty acids having a melting point of 40 to 90 DEG C and waxes having a melting point of 40 to 90 DEG C. The protective coating material can be used for applying a moisture-resistant coating film to a solid preparation such as a drug.
