<p>Refractory prods., based on zircon, tabular Al2O3 and additives, are prepd. by firing a ceramic mass of ternary "granulometric mixts." of 63 mu-0.47 mm. zircon, and/or 63 mu zircon, and/or 10 mu zircon, with tabular Al2O3 of 53 mu and/or tabular Al2O3 of 0.3-4.0 mm., and/or a binder and/or a lubricant such as sodium CMC, Na2SIO3, substd. celluloses, and all alkali-organic cpds., according to a heating cycle consisting of heating over 15-66 hrs. with a max. temp. of 1540-1760 degrees C. Used in glass melting tanks and similar purposes. The low open porosity imparts good corrosion resistance. The time mfr. is reduced compared with prior art prods. of a similar nature.</p> |
