The frequency converter, for community antenna systems, has a first mixer converting the input into an IF signal. The IF signal is BP filtered and amplified and passed to a second mixer that produces the final output signal. Both mixers are supplied from the same local oscillator (2) via a frequency coupler (3) that passes the fundamental to one mixer and the second harmonic to the other. The advantage lies in simplicity and low cost.
