The switch assembly has several push-button rows and a corresponding number of switching elements in each row. The assembly contains adjustable sprung securing rails and profiles groups, through which moves the push-button setting elements and by which they are secured in depressed condition. The adjustable securing rails of adjacent rows are interconnected by lever rods. The interconnected rails are rotatable in their displacement plane, the adjacent rails being sprung in opposite direction. The lever rods are preferably connected to opposite ends of the adjacent rails. Each lever rod has typically the form of an arcuated plate whose middle part is secured rotatably in opposite direction. The ends of the plate are coupled to adjacent securing rails.
