Evaporative concentrator for metal plating baths etc. - using vacuum evaporator with capillary tubes to low pressure space and rotary compressor element

Evapn. system consists of a tower with a rotary compressor element at the top. Dilute liquor enters chambers at the base of the unit and these are connected to the evapn. space at the top by a series of capillary tubes. Water vapour drawn off is recompressed by the compressor element and runs down passages to a shell which surrounds the capillary tubes. Here it serves to heat the boiling soln. It finally runs off through a heat exchanger to preheat the incoming feed. Used esp. for concentrating metal plating bath wash liquors to recover the metal ions and return them to the plating bath. The system gives a consistant prod. which can be directly returned to the process.
