The feed is forced over a baffle and into a reservoir chamber, the floor of which has multiple small bore pipe outlets concentrically aligned with the heat exchanger tubes of larger diameter situated immediately below, in a second chamber, whereby a thin film of liquor passes continuously down the heat exchanger walls. Increased thermal efficiency is obtd.
