<p>A three-way valve in which the valve disc is in the form of a flexible disc having a diameter slightly in excess of the interior diameter of the valve port so that as the valve is moved between its two valving positions, the valve disc is "flipped" over center so that its outer edge is always deflected towards the incoming fluid. In this way, the pressure drop through the valve tends to hold the edge of the disc firmly against the interior wall of the chamber. The valve disc is held between two collars retained on the valve stem which serve to maintain the central portion of the valve disc rigid. The valve stem may be actuated by a solenoid or any other suitable means.</p> |
