DERIVATIVES OF 5-CARBOXYALKYL-2-IMINOBARBITURIC AND 5-CARBOXYALKYL-2-THIOXOBARBITURIC ACID

Derivatives of 5-carboxyalkyl-2-iminobarbituric and 5-carboxyalkyl-2-thioxobarbituric acids, having the general formula: (I) wherein R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a straight or branched chain alkyl group containing 1 to 7 carbon atoms, R2 represents hydrogen or a straight or branched chain alkyl group containing 1 to 5 carbon atoms, R3 represents hydrogen, a straight or branched chain alkyl group containing 1 to 5 carbon atoms, or an aryl group, R4 represents an imino group or a sulphur atom, and n is 0 or an integer ranging from 1 to 6; and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts. These compounds are therapeutically useful in the treatment of animals with transplantable tumours.
