Fuel oil evaporator system - has preheating section preceding oil and carrier gas mixer

The conversion of fuel oil into a vapour for mixing with a carrier gas, such as steam, to be fed to burners is carried out in the two-zone evaporator. When light oil is used, then the mixture is totally evaporated, while heavy oil feed may leave some of it in the evaporated state. Optimum conditions are achieved by adjusting the pressure and temp. of both the steam and fuel oil. The gaseous mixture flows from the evaporator through a line and the normally open valve to the separator for separating gas and liquid. The nonevaporated oil is returned to fire the evaporator. Part of the evaporated oil is used to feed the superheating coil for transfer to the burners. The top of the evaporator preheats the oil before it is mixed with steam in unit which can be a vessel or a T-type pipe.
