Stackable transport and storage containers 10, 11, 12 for handling by fork lift trucks are provided with supporting flaps 16 which are automatically operated by the forks of the fork lift truck and which in protracted position permit stacking the containers on top of each other, and in retracted position permit stacking of the containers in nested condition. The position of the supporting flaps 16 is controlled in dependence on the forks actuating or not actuating a pivoted actuator pin or flap 22 extending into at least one of the fork receiving sockets 14 of the transport and storage containers, said actuator pin or flap being connected to the supporting flaps via motion transmitting mechanism comprising a cam mechanism 24, 25, 31 and a reciprocable carriage 26. <IMAGE> |
