Tree shaker for fruit harvesting - has opposed trunk gripping jaws fitted with elastic pads formed of rolled strip material

Jaws (1) are fitted with pads (2) to grip the trunk of a tree to transmit a vibratory movement to it. The pads are composed of one or m ore bands of elastic sheet arranged in successive layers which have openings formed in them. The bands are connected to the jaws such that successive openings are superposed to form a cavity (6, 7). The cavity is in that part of the pad which contacts the tree trunk. The pad can be formed by a single coiled band of elastic sheet with longitudinal perforations. The perforations may be of different sizes so as to form a conical cavity when superposed.
