The power driving a motor cycle can be increased by using a turbo-compressor. The turbo-compressor is mounted on the luggage carrier of the bicycle and draws in air from the front and expels it rearwards. The turbo-compressor is driven by a small friction roller which is pressed against the tread of the tyre. The diameter of the roller is chosen so that the turbo-compressor runs at a speed of 3000 to 6000 rpm. The rearward expulsion of air creates a thrust which, it is claimed, assists in the forward propulsion of the bicycle.
|
