The compensating balance has a movable load receiving pan coupled to a coil in a stationary magnet air-gap, to which a force is applied when it moves from its neutral position. It has further a position indicator and a control circuit keeping the coil in its neutral position by controlling the coil current. The device has at least one temp. sensitive component for temp. dependent shifting of the pan (10) or the coil (16) from the neutral to a compensation position.
