Two layer winding with odd number of conductors per slot - has coils with ends brought out to opposite ends of winding

The proposed two layer winding coil arrangement permits the use of an odd number of conductors per slot and the same number of conductors in every slot without any specific restriction on coil throw. The coils are wound with (n+1)/2 conductors on one side and (n-1)/2 on the other (n=odd integer). As a result the start (E) and finish (A) of the coil are on opposite sides of the winding thus requiring interconnections on each side. By grouping coils according to the winding required the cross connections at one end can be incorporated in the coils.
