<p>A method of bending glass in which horizontally supported glass sheets are conveyed through a furnace where they are heated to harding temp. and then over rolls which are of progressively increasing transverse curvature to prebend the sheets which are then passed into bending zone where they are bent to the final shape. The bent sheets are then pref. passed into a tempering zone where air blasts are directed onto the upper and lower sheet surfaces. The first air blasts are pref. angled in the direction of sheet travel. Prods. used as glass windows for automobiles.</p> |
