<p>The document encoding station consists of a keyboard (3) immediately in front of the operator. It has numerical, alphabetical and function keys. At the rear of the transport channel (11) for the documents (cards etc.) is the visual display screen (8), is placed at such a height so that the operator does not have to shift her position to read it. The front wall of the channel has a transparent glass panel which is illuminated by a lamp situated in the casing section (15)immediately in front of the operator. The card, when correctly positioned can then be read and the relevant data punched up by the operator for verification in the visual display unit. The card is then transported further along the channel to the coding or printing station (21, 22).</p> |
