The mounting for a vehicle sliding seat has U shaped rails (5) open towards the middle of the seat fitting. L shaped guides (6) extending from under the seat have their short arms set into the U profiles. The upper edges of the U-profiles have ratchet teeth which are engaged by locking levers pivoted on the L-profile. The rails can be adjusted to prevent any relative twisting and to prevent any rattling.
