The appts. for cleaning the transparent plastics or textile sheet (1) forming an inflatable domed structure, uses carriages which travel over the inside or outside. For cleaning the outside, the carriage (2) may be supported by cables (5). For either the outside or the inside, the carriage (7) may operate in conjunction with a counter carriage (8) on the other side of the sheet, the two being held together magnetically. Each carriage has a drive with belts passing around rollers, and has a rotary cylindrical cleaning brush (4) mounted one end. This is used in conjunction with water jets. The height of the brush can be varied. The water supplied to the jets by a hydraulic motor also rotates the brush.
