The hinge is used for mounting a furniture door. The hinge pin is situated on one furniture part and engages with a bearing socket on the other part. The hinge pin (6) can slide longitudinally on one of the furniture parts. A rack section interacts with a pinion element (8) for sliding the hinge pin longitudinally. This element on one furniture part (1) can be rotated about a rotating axis preferably at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the hinge pin.
