The bucket elevator comprises two endless ropes (1, 2), each positively driven by a pulley, and to which the buckets (7) are fixed. The buckets can be mounted between the ropes, and arranged to pivot, being secured to portions of the ropes (8) bent out of their trajectory. The pulleys can be grooved, with linings inside the grooves to seat the drive belts.
