<p>The transfer printing process for a pile carpeting material, incorporating a het resistant carrier or base, uses the carrier or base as the direct carrier for the dyestuff. The dyestuff is applied directly to the ground carrier fabric of the carpeting before the pile is in place. The pile is applied to the side of the fabric with the dye, and then heat is delivered to sublimate the dyestuff, with no covering on the pile on the opposite side to the carrier fabric. The process allows a transfer printing action without pressing a film against the pile surface of the material.</p> |
